Iraq0tarek-azizAiling former Iraqi deputy premier Tareq Aziz has been hospitalised after temporarily losing consciousness at the US prison where he is being held in Iraq and is intensive care, his son said Saturday.

 

"On Tuesday, my father telephoned us to say that he had (temporarily) lost consciousness and that the American doctor and director of the prison decided to transfer him to hospital in Balad," north of Baghdad, Ziad Aziz told AFP.

"Tariq Aziz is a well-respected diplomat;

he has friends in the diplomatic community
